This depends on what experience you are looking for! The wedding venue is located in Mt. Pleasant and is about 25-30 minutes from Downtown Charleston. Most of the shopping, restaurants, historic places, and fun activities are in Downtown Charleston. If you would like to be within walking distance of most of these attractions, you should stay in Downtown Charleston. The hotels there are more expensive than the Mt. Pleasant hotels and parking can be an issue. However, our awesome wedding planner has secured a discounted block of rooms at the Indigo Inn in Downtown Charleston for us. This is the first hotel listed on the “Travel and Accommodations” page on our website. This hotel has onsite parking so you do not have to worry about parking in a garage or a public lot and walking to your hotel. Some hotels have parking close by or offer valet. The daily rate for valet or public lots is typically $40. The daily parking rate at the Indigo Inn is $25. If you do not want to be in Downtown Charleston, consider the other options on our website. These are Courtyard by Marriott - Mt. Pleasant and Hotel Indigo (not to be confused with The Indigo Inn). We also have a block of rooms at a discounted rate at these hotels. These hotels are about 15 minutes away from the wedding venue. You are obviously free to stay anywhere you would like whether that be at one of our hotel blocks or at a different hotel or airbnb!

The requested attire for the wedding ceremony and reception is formal. Ladies should wear a floor length or midi dress and gentlemen should wear a suit. If the weather permits it, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors. Dinner and dancing will be indoors. There are dirt paths throughout the venue, so block heels, wedges, or flats may be more comfortable than stilettos. The weather in March can be unpredictable so please check the weather a few days before the wedding. We will have a second photographer to take professional photos of our guests during cocktail hour under the oak trees on the Avenue of Oaks. Couples and families should consider coordinating outfits for this photo. The photos will be available to you after the photographer completes our gallery. Please provide your email address when you RSVP and we will make sure we get your photo to you!

Please try to arrive around 5:00 pm to allow ample time to be seated. There is ample space for parking at the venue.

Kids are welcome. Kid’s meals will be available for those with a picky palate. Just let us know if you would like a kid’s meal when RSVP’ing. The reception location is by the water so extra care will be required for adventurous children!

Our ceremony is unplugged and we have an amazing photographer and videographer to capture everything. We respectfully request that you please silence your phones and do not use them during the ceremony.
